Grinding is an abrasive machining process that cuts with a grinding wheel or grinder. It’s especially useful in situations where very tight tolerances are necessary – such as in high-precision machinery or engines.

Grinding is the most suitable process for items that need a high surface quality and accurate shape or dimension. Grinding is also used to rapidly remove a large amount of metal.

We are often asked the difference between manual grinding and machine grinding. Machine grinding is polishing to the last layer for precision and accuracy. Normally a surface grinder is used for this process. Manual grinding quickly removes unwanted material to a desired shape using a hand grinder or a die grinder.
