Eddy Current Separator Rotor Refurbishment
Project Overview
A customer operating a 2-metre eddy current separator reported rotor damage affecting non-ferrous recovery. As the separator formed an essential part of daily processing, refurbishment was required without unnecessary delay to avoid disruption.
Background
Blaker Engineering was asked to inspect and restore the rotor. The customer required a practical solution to return the equipment to service without full replacement.
Work Undertaken
Following inspection, the rotor was fully stripped and cleaned. Our team then:
Machined and replaced damaged magnets
Re-wrapped the drum
Serviced bearings and seals
- Installed a new drive pulley
Outcome
Once completed, the rotor was reassembled and checked before being returned to site. The refurbishment restored the unit to reliable working condition, supporting continued operation in a demanding recycling environment.
