Hopper and Metering Conveyor System for Kent Metal Processing Plant

Blaker Engineering recently completed the fabrication and assembly of a hopper and metering conveyor system for a metal processing plant in Kent.
 
This project represents the third system we have built for our customer, reflecting the reliability and robust performance of earlier units already in operation within their recycling process.

The Requirement

The customer required a robust and reliable solution to manage material flow within a busy metal recycling environment.
Consistent and controlled feed of material is essential to maintain efficient downstream processing and maximise separation performance.

Our Solution

Blaker Engineering fabricated and assembled a hopper and metering conveyor system, designed to regulate the flow of material into the next stage of the recycling process.

The system was manufactured in our workshop using British-manufactured steel, ensuring strength and durability in a heavy-duty operating environment.
 
 
Key elements of the build included:

  • Assembly of the metering conveyor system

  • Installation of UK-manufactured chain components (John King Chains Ltd.)

  • Full workshop assembly and operational testing prior to dispatch

  • Preparation of two-metre extension legs for installation on site

Build and Testing

Following fabrication, the full system was assembled and underwent operational testing in our workshop to ensure correct performance prior to delivery.
 
This approach allows any adjustments to be made before installation, helping to minimise disruption on site.

The Outcome

The completed hopper and metering conveyor system is now ready for delivery and installation to our customer’s facility in Kent.
 
With two similar units already in operation, the decision to commission a third system reflects the proven reliability and performance of the equipment in service.
