Dehaco and Liebherr Grab Repairs
We’ve been super busy refurbishing grabs for our metal recycling clients.
At one point, we received four to repair at once and it’s fair to say they’d all seen a bit of action!
The first in line to be repaired was a Dehaco DSG802 grab. After stripping and inspecting the unit we replaced the ram seals and two ram pins and bosses, cleaned and greased the holes, fitted new nippes, replaced the hydraulic pipes below the rotor, welded various cracks and then as part of our reconditioning package we cleaned and repainted the grab.
Next to be reconditioned was a Liebherr 5 tine grab. Once we’d stripped and assessed the extent of work we cleaned the pins and bosses, deburred the edges, cleaned and greased the holes, fitted new nipples, repaired the ram guards and fitted new tips. To give it our Blaker seal of approval, we cleaned the whole unit and repainted it grey.
Last, but not least, were two Dehaco DSG1102 grabs, both in the same condition, requiring similar repair work. We replaced the ram seals, cleaned up the ram thread, cleaned and greased the holes, fitted new nippes, replaced the hydraulic pipes below the rotor, turned the cutting edges and fitted new bolts, welded up cracks and to make the grab look as good as new we cleaned it up and gave it the Blaker finishing touch with a good coat of paint.
