Welding repairs to rotor
A huge 9.5t motor belonging to a mobile Hammel fragmentiser was delivered to us for urgent repairs.

The rotor had started to seriously vibrate due to the components breaking internally and working loose on the keyway. We stripped the rotor down, built up the materials around the keyway, machined a new keyway slot, made a new stepped key, cleaned up components, repositioned the pins in the hammers, weighed all the hammers individually and reassembled with equal weights on each of the four shafts. We also fabricated new retaining plates and then reassembled the rotor.
