Due to the extent of damage to the Eddy Current rotor, this repair required significant fabrication work.

We had to completely strip the rotor to establish the reason for the failure. The root cause being the end plate, which the balance weights attach to, was broken. 

We cleaned the rotor, refitted the balance plate, fabricated new bearing covers and fitted new bearings and dust seals. A new drum was fitted due to the damage caused by the loose balance plate. 

The whole unit was then re-assembled, QC inspected and crated up for return to customer.
